Privacy policy

Your training stays under your control. Get a Grip has no accounts, ads or analytics SDKs. This policy explains local storage, platform backups, sharing and the information you choose to send for support.

Delete your data or request support-data deletion

Who is responsible

This policy covers the official Get a Grip apps for Android and iOS, including beta versions, and their support and legal pages. Get a Grip is provided by Nuri Bruner, an independent developer based in France. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@nuri.run. Nuri Bruner is responsible for personal information received through support and operating these pages. Independently distributed forks may have different practices.

Training data on your device

The app stores your routines, grip specifications, workout dates and results, pull measurements and timing, recorded maximums, and preferences such as units, reminders and gauge selection. Fitness records can be sensitive. They are used to run your sessions and show your history and progress.

There is no developer-operated account or training database. The Android app does not request Internet access and contains no advertising, analytics or automatic crash-reporting SDK. Neither app connects your records to Health Connect or Apple Health, or accesses your contacts, microphone or location.

Android backup and device transfer

Android stores the database and preferences locally. When system backup or device transfer is enabled, Android may copy the database and settings to your backup provider or another device. This is a system backup, not live synchronization, and does not synchronize Android history with iOS.

Backup availability, encryption, retention and restoration depend on your device, provider and settings. A backup can restore records after reinstallation. Manage backups in your device or provider settings; the developer cannot read or delete them. Temporary export files are excluded from the app’s declared backup rules.

iOS and iCloud

On iOS, training records can synchronize through your private Apple CloudKit database when iCloud is available. The developer cannot read that private database. Local-only use is possible. Apple device backups may also contain app data according to your settings. Apple controls its backup and cloud services under its own terms and privacy policy.

Permissions and connected gauges

Bluetooth permission lets the app discover gauges, handle their device names and connection identifiers, and read force, battery and connection information. Some supported scales broadcast readings without pairing. A connected session may continue in the background; Android displays an ongoing session notification while its connected-device service runs. Ending the session stops that service.

Camera access is used only when you scan a routine. QR codes are decoded on your phone; the app does not save or upload camera frames. On iOS, saving a shared image can request add-only Photos access. Android uses the system share interface without broad access to your photo library.

Optional reminders are scheduled on your device. Reminder and ongoing-session notifications may show training information on your lock screen, depending on your settings. They are not marketing notifications. You can manage permissions and notifications in system settings.

Sharing, exports and AI

A shared routine link or QR code contains the routine itself. Anyone with that link or code can read it. Share images contain the selected information shown in the image. Training exports contain more detail, including dates, routine and grip names, measurements, timings, maximums and stable record identifiers. These identifiers connect records; they are not advertising identifiers.

Sharing, saving or copying happens only at your request, through your chosen app, file destination or clipboard. Temporary exported files can remain in the app cache until you clear it or the system removes them. Copies saved or sent elsewhere remain with that destination.

The app does not automatically upload training to an AI service. If you give an export to an AI or another recipient, its handling is governed by that recipient’s policies. Review what you share, especially routine names and training history.

Diagnostics and support email

The app keeps a limited, temporary diagnostic history of connection events and performance counters in memory. Old entries are overwritten; this history does not survive the app process ending. It is not automatically sent to the developer.

Support opens an editable email draft with app version, operating-system version, phone model, selected gauge and language information. Bug reports can include recent diagnostics if you choose. You can inspect, edit or cancel the draft. When you send an email, we receive your email address, message, attachments and normal delivery metadata; email providers process it to deliver and store the correspondence.

We use correspondence to answer you, investigate the issue, maintain security and improve the app. We do not use it for marketing. Please avoid sending medical records or unnecessary personal information. If handling sensitive health information is necessary, we will seek an appropriate explicit consent before doing so.

Support correspondence is kept only while needed to resolve the request and relevant follow-up, then deleted or de-identified. Limited information may be retained longer where a legal obligation or legal claim requires it. You may request earlier deletion at support@nuri.run.

Website and other providers

The optional Android beta uses a self-join Google Group to grant Google Play testing access. Google processes membership under its policies. The group owner, Nuri Bruner, can see the profile information and email address used to join; other members cannot see the member list or email addresses. Membership is used to administer beta access, not for marketing, and requires no training records. You can leave through Google Groups or ask support@nuri.run to remove your membership. Google may retain its own service records under its policy.

These pages are hosted by Vercel. Visiting them sends ordinary request information, such as your IP address, browser, requested URL and time, to the host for delivery and security. These support and legal pages add no advertising or analytics scripts and do not receive your training database.

Apple, Google, your device or backup provider, email services and recipients you choose operate their own services under their own policies. The operating system or app store may provide diagnostic reports according to your platform settings, separately from the app’s optional support email. Providers may process information outside your country; their policies explain locations and transfer protections.

Personal information is not sold or rented. Service providers may process information to deliver the services described here. Information may also be disclosed when necessary to comply with law or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Keeping and deleting your data

Training records remain until you delete them. You can remove records in the app. On Android, system Settings → Apps → Get a Grip → Storage → Clear storage removes the local database and preferences; uninstalling also removes local app data. Manage cloud backups separately so an old backup does not restore deleted records. Delete exported files and recipient copies separately.

On iOS, delete records while the app is connected to iCloud if you want the deletions to synchronize. Uninstalling alone does not delete your private CloudKit records. Manage iCloud storage and device backups through Apple settings.

The developer cannot remotely delete data held only on your phone or in a private platform backup. There is no Get a Grip account to close. For personal information sent to support, request deletion by email.

Legal bases, rights and security

For information we receive, responding to support requests and maintaining a secure website rely on our legitimate interests in providing a working app and helping its users. Legally required retention relies on the relevant legal obligation. Where consent is required, including for necessary processing of sensitive health information, we ask for it and you may withdraw it for future processing.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal information we hold, or object to its processing. Contact support@nuri.run; we may need proportionate information to verify your request. Under the GDPR, we normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions. You may complain to your local data protection authority, including the CNIL in France.

The app uses the operating system’s storage isolation and permission controls; these web pages use HTTPS. Use a screen lock and keep your device updated. No storage, Bluetooth link or email service can be guaranteed completely secure.

Children and policy changes

Get a Grip is a general fitness tool and is not directed at children under 13. Contact us if a child has sent personal information to support so we can address it. This does not make unsupervised training appropriate for a child.

We update the date on this page when the policy changes. Material changes will be communicated appropriately, and consent requested where required.
