Terms of use

Get a Grip helps you plan, time and record finger training. These terms explain its limits, your data choices and the rights that remain yours, including its open-source licence.

The app and its provider

These terms apply to the official Android and iOS versions of Get a Grip, including betas, provided by Nuri Bruner, an independent developer based in France. Contact: support@nuri.run. They describe use of the official app alongside applicable store terms and software licences. Independently distributed forks are not operated or supported by Nuri Bruner.

A training tool, not medical advice

Get a Grip is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, including questions about pain, injury or whether training is appropriate for you. The app and support correspondence do not provide medical clearance or a rehabilitation plan.

Routines, targets, timers and recorded results do not establish that a particular load or protocol is safe for you. You choose your training and equipment.

Training and equipment

Finger loading can cause injury. Follow your equipment manufacturer’s instructions, inspect your setup and anchors, and stop if you experience pain or concerning symptoms. Children should have appropriate adult supervision and qualified advice. Do not use an app reading, gauge or training setup as fall protection or safety equipment.

Check calibration, units and zero/tare before relying on measurements. Sensor accuracy, mounting, firmware, Bluetooth interruptions and phone performance can affect readings and timing. Experimental gauge support is identified in the app and may not have been verified on hardware. The app is independent of gauge manufacturers. Demo readings are simulated; timer-only sessions do not measure force.

Your records and sharing

You retain rights in your own content. The privacy policy explains local storage, private platform backups and optional support messages. Keep copies of important records. Backups and synchronization can be delayed or incomplete; an analysis export is not a promise that full history can be restored into the app. The developer has no central copy of your training database to recover for you.

Only share content you are entitled to share. A routine link or QR code can be read by anyone who receives it. Exports can contain detailed fitness history. Your chosen recipients, including AI services, apply their own terms and policies.

Open source and store terms

The app’s published source code is available under the Mozilla Public License 2.0, with third-party components under their respective licences. Those licences govern the rights to use, inspect, modify and redistribute covered code. These terms do not reduce those rights. See the source repository and in-app open-source notices for licences and attribution. Branding and trademarks are separate from the code licence.

Apple App Store or Google Play terms also apply to downloads and any transactions handled by those stores. Nothing here removes rights you have under those terms or applicable consumer law.

Availability, betas and changes

We work to keep the app useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, perfectly accurate measurements, compatibility with every gauge or a particular update schedule. Beta versions may contain defects, and features may change. These limits are subject to any mandatory duties, including applicable conformity and security-update obligations.

Updated terms will be dated here and material changes communicated appropriately. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. You can stop using and uninstall the official app at any time; rights granted under the source-code licences continue according to those licences.

Responsibility and your legal rights

To the extent allowed by law, the app is provided without a guarantee that it will meet every individual training need or that every result is error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory warranties or remedies, or limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including applicable liability for fraud or personal injury. These terms are not a waiver of such rights.

French law applies, while preserving mandatory protections that apply to consumers in their country of residence. You retain any right to bring a claim in a competent local court. Contact support@nuri.run if there is a problem so we can try to resolve it.
